Antonio Banderas Links Up With Tom Holland In Uncharted Movie

It looks as though the long-gestating Uncharted movie may finally be finding its feet, as the cast list grows by the day. Joining the likes of Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg will be none other than Antonio Banderas, Variety reports.

The veteran actor, known for his work in The Mask of Zorro, Shrek and, most recently, his Oscar-nominated role in Pain and Glory, will be joined by a couple of new faces in the project, including Sophia Ali (Grey’s Anatomy) and Tati Gabrielle (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina).

No details on their roles have been specified, however, but we’re hoping Banderas would be a villain to Holland’s Nathan Drake and Wahlberg’s Victor “Sully” Sullivan.

Meanwhile, Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland: Double Tap, Venom) is set to direct Uncharted, after being tipped to do so in January. Hopefully, it will stay that way after the project lost about half a dozen directors over the past decade.

Neither Fleischer nor Sony Pictures have confirmed the exact filming dates for the Uncharted movie, though it is still slated to release in theatres on 5 March 2021.
