After Complaints, Crystal Dynamics Tweaks Character Looks In Marvel’s Avengers

Marvel’s Avengers by Crystal Dynamics is certainly something to look forward to in 2020, but it isn’t without its share of flak. This divide of opinion stems from the designs of the character models, which some might argue are visually unappealing, due to their chunky appearance.

Crystal Dynamics had long posited that they will make no concessions to their character designs. But lo and behold, when a fanbase as big as the Marvel community makes noise, it’s no surprise that the devs caved and tweaked their looks, thanks to Twitter user Eren Caboose.

Arguably one of the most decried character designs is that of Thor, whose original look sported a wild mane of hair and a waistline that apes that of Fat Thor in Avengers: Endgame. Crystal Dynamics changed that around and made him more streamlined, both for his hair and for his torso.

Likewise, Tony Stark/Iron Man looks to be visually tweaked as well, albeit even more subtly.

The new visual tweaks have left many eager fans even more optimistic about how the full game will turn out.

We have yet to see how the new character models for the likes of Captain America, Black Widow, and the Hulk will be, but it wouldn’t be far off to assume that their visual aspects have been edited as well. The reveal for the main character in Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel is certainly another fist-pumper for fans.

In any case, this new direction Crystal Dynamics is taking will hopefully be one for the better, as we get ready for the full release of Marvel’s Avengers on May 15, 2020, exclusively on PS4.
