As TT Games’ Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight gears up for launch in May, the game has teased a unique new addition to its lineup of unlockable suits in the form of Absolute Batman, an alternate universe Caped Crusader seen in the 2024 DC Comics created by Scott Snyder.

While past Lego Batman games offer no shortage of unlockable outfits, these usually comprise classic Batman suits like the one worn by Adam West in 1966’s Batman: The Movie, those seen in the Dark Knight trilogy, or generally those seen in more classic iterations of Batman, making this new suit stand out as the Absolute Batman comics have only been out for less than two years.
Created by Snyder and artist Nick Dragotta, Absolute Batman reimagines the popular character with a unique twist, with Bruce Wayne growing up poor in Crime Alley and relying on self-built equipment rather than inherited wealth. Other characters also see a drastic change, with Alfred Pennyworth being an MI6 agent hunting down Batman, Joker being a villainous billionaire, and several of Batman’s classic enemies like Killer Croc, the Riddler, and the Penguin are now Bruce’s childhood friends.
Absolute Batman isn’t heading to Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight alone, either, as the game will also include the Absolute Catwoman skin for its feline playable character, with the developer even inviting Snyder himself to try out the new suits as seen in the video below.
Set in a Lego Gotham City, the game promises to feature not just an expansive world to explore, filled with iconic locations like Ace Chemicals or Arkham Asylum, but also a fluid combat system akin to the one seen in Rocksteady’s Arkham game franchise, multiple playable characters like Nightwing or Jim Gordon, and tons of gadgets to solve puzzles.
Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight launches on 22 May 2026 for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version slated for a later date.
