A Tale Of Two Vans: Vans And Van Gogh Museum Team Up For An Artistic Collection

American skate brand Vans have always been known for their classic canvas sneakers, but that canvas is about to take on a whole new meaning. From the bright sunflowers to the iconic self-portrait, Vans shoes and apparel will soon be printed with the beautiful paintings by legendary Dutch Post-Impressionist artist Vincent Van Gogh.

The limited edition Vans x Van Gogh Museum capsule collection will let you celebrate your love for Van Gogh’s art from head to toe with some Van-cy caps, backpacks, t-shirts, jackets, and of course, sneakers. These will be adorned with some of Van Gogh’s most recognisable paintings including Skull, Almond Blossoms, Sunflowers, Old Vineyard with Peasant Woman, his renowned self-portrait, as well as a print of his handwritten letters to his brother Theo.

Great care has been taken by the designers at Vans to include subtle details such as the custom insoles of the shoes that mimic Van Gogh’s signature unique brush strokes. Each item will also come with a hangtag with historical information describing the artwork it was based on.

Adding just that little bit of class to the humble pair of Vans sneakers, the Vans x Van Gogh Museum collection is slated for release on August 3, 2018. No details on their prices just yet, but they will be available for purchase on the Vans website, Vans retail stores, and in both the online store and physical gift shop of the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.
