It seems Final Fantasy fans have one more game to look forward to, now that it’s been announced that a Final Fantasy XV massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) is currently in the works for mobile.
Square Enix is teaming up with South Korean developer JSC Games and Chinese game maker GAEA Mobile to develop the MMORPG, which is tentatively titled Final Fantasy 15 Mobile.
Fans will know that FFXV is no stranger to the mobile platform, with mobile games based on it released for mobile in 2017 and 2018.
According to Kultur, the game will be set in a parallel Final Fantasy XV world which takes place right after Noctis sets off for his journey. The MMORPG will feature whole new regions for players to explore and the developers state they hope to bring the flashy action and graphics the original console game is known for to mobile.
A trailer for the game is expected to be released in the first half of 2020, and the game will be released in China first with a global release planned for later.
