The 144-page culinary guide is currently sold out on the online merch store, but those who managed to snag a copy of it are rewarded with a unique code for an exclusive in-game Chef’s Outfit to wear in RuneScape (not Old School RuneScape, as the listing is quick to point out).

Here’s a quick look at some of the recipes:

The first-ever RuneScape cookbook comes some 22 years after its debut. Published by Jagex, the MMORPG started out as a browser game built with the Java programming language, introducing players to the world of Gielinor, a medieval fantasy realm divided into different kingdoms, regions, and cities. It grew into a beloved classic over the years, with Guinness World Records recognising it as the largest and most-updated free MMORPG in 2008.

The game engine was subsequently rewritten and released as RuneScape 2, while the original version was renamed RuneScape Classic. After RuneScape 3 launched in 2013, Old School RuneScape — serving as a separate, older iteration — was maintained alongside the original client. Both versions of the MMORPG debuted on Android and iOS devices in 2018, with RuneScape releasing on Steam in 2020.

For those looking to revisit nostalgia, Brighter Shores, hailing from RuneScape creator Andrew Gower, will bring a fresh coat of paint to the same old-school charm. The upcoming adventure hits PC and Mac via Steam in Q3 2024.
