The rumblings (pun intended) of excitement are set to hit aspiring scouts in Singapore, as Attack on Titan: The Musical makes its first Asian stop outside of Japan next year. Running from 15 April to 2 May at Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands, the production will combine original music, live vocals, action choreography, and stage effects for what’s termed a ‘2.5-dimensional’ theatrical experience.

This Japanese form of live entertainment adapts 2D characters and worlds from manga into the physical 3D world of the stage, marrying traditional performance techniques with contemporary stage technology. Directed by Go Ueki, with a script by Masafumi Hata, music supervision by Ken The 390 and lyrics by Kaori Miura, the performance will be in Japanese with English surtitles (not to be confused with subtitles) and cover the early story chapters up to the Battle of Trost.
Some story elements have been rearranged and cut out for the stage, with familiar characters such as Eren Yeager, naturally, Mikasa Ackerman, Armin Arlet, Levi, Erwin Smith, and Hange Zoe appearing. Alongside original songs written specifically for the production, fans can also expect the incorporation of “Guren no Yumiya”, the iconic opening theme from the first season of the anime.
Each show runs for approximately 120 minutes and is scheduled for 8pm from Tuesdays to Fridays, 2pm and 8pm on Saturdays, and 1.30pm and 6pm on Sundays. General sales for tickets (SISTIC | Klook) start on 14 October, with pricing details as follows:
- UOB VIP Dress Circle (4 Box) with Exclusive Memento: S$672 (off-peak) / S$752 (peak)

Attack on Titan: The Musical premiered in Osaka and Tokyo in January 2023, before making its international debut in New York in October 2024. The production is based on Hajime Isayama’s best-selling manga, which follows Eren in a world where humanity is forced to live in cities surrounded by three enormous walls that protect them from gigantic man-eating humanoids referred to as Titans, vowing to exterminate them after the destruction of his hometown and the death of his mother. It has won several awards and sold over 140 million copies as of November 2023.
