Ahead of the launch of Disney’s Moana on 9 July 2026, Geek Culture is inviting some lucky fans on a quest of our own – one where 5 lucky winners can snag a set of limited-edition Disney’s Moana premiums.
The legendary tale of Moana comes to life in this upcoming live-action rendition, which sees Catherine Lagaʻaia take on the role of the titular heroine as she ventures beyond the safety of her home island to answer the Ocean’s call, embarking on an epic journey to restore prosperity to her people. To aid her in her quest, she is joined by the beefy demigod Maui, portrayed by Dwayne Johnson, who reprises his role from the 2016 animated original and its 2024 sequel.
Jared Bush and Dana Ledoux Miller, who wrote the script for the animated films, will return for Disney’s Moana as co-screenwriters, with Thomas Kail (Hamilton) serving as its director. Mark Mancina also returns to score the film, with Johnson also doubling up as producer. In addition to its main duo, the film also stars John Tui (Battleship) as Moana’s father Chief Tui, Frankie Adams (The Expanse) as Moana’s mother Sina, and Rena Owen (The Last Witch Hunter) as Gramma Tala.
