‘Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo’ Manga Gets MAPPA-Animated Tie-In Video For Final Volume Release

The Culling Game may still be in progress, but that isn’t stopping animation studio MAPPA from surprising fans with a special look at the future of Jujutsu Kaisen. To celebrate the release of the third and final volume of the manga spin-off Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, a special promotional video featuring the voices of Yūji Itadori (voiced by Junya Enoki) and Mahito (Nobunaga Shimazaki) was released.

The 30-second short is directed by anime key animator Shun Miyakawa, with Sota Yamazaki serving as character design and chief animation director. It also highlights the tagline, “End the cycle of curses,” but don’t get your hopes up yet — there was no announcement for a full anime adaptation.

Written by series creator Gege Akutami and illustrated by Yuji Iwasaki, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is set in the year 2086 and centres on jujutsu sorcerers Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu. It debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump last September and ended on 9 March after 25 chapters. The third volume was shipped in Japan on 1 May.

The official synopsis reads, “It’s been 68 years since the Culling Game. In 2086, an alien race known as the Simurians arrive on Earth in a spaceship. The fate of the world lies in the hands of two jujutsu sorcerers Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu. Jujutsu sorcerers and aliens, what chaos will be born from this meeting?”
