Netflix has dropped a trailer for One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things 5, a surprise documentary which offers a peek into the final season of the streamer’s massively successful sci-fi horror franchise.
Described as “an inside look at the years of effort and craft that went into the final instalment of the Duffer Brothers‘ generation-defining series”, the documentary will be released on 12 January 2026 and will be directed by Martina Radwan (Girls State).
The two-minute-long trailer teases snippets of the final table read for Stranger Things Season Five, interspersed by voiceover from Ross Duffer saying that “writing the last lines these characters would ever say, it was really hard to do”, and shots of the show’s cast like Noah Schnapp and Millie Bobby Brown crying on a couch. Stills of the cast in the show’s early days were also shown, which really drives home just how much they have grown since the show first debuted in 2016.
“I’m endlessly grateful to the Duffer Brothers for trusting me with a front-row seat to this incredible journey,” said Radwan in a statement made alongside the announcement of the documentary, “Being able to get close and watching them bring this beloved show to life in real time was pure joy. I only wish I could travel back and document Seasons 1 through 4. From the cast to their long-time collaborators, everyone welcomed me with remarkable generosity, openly sharing their personal and collective experiences from a decade of creative filmmaking, always pushing the boundaries. The Duffers inspire everyone to be better, including myself, their process and the show represent everything I love about filmmaking.”
Stranger Things Season 5 closed off the long-running series on 27 November 2025 with Volume 1 and Volume 2 on Christmas Day, wrapping up with a lengthy 128-minute finale titled “The Rightside Up” that premiered on Netflix on 31 December 2025, marking the end of an era.
One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things 5 will celebrate the final season of one of Netflix’s most successful projects of all time when it launches on the streamer on 12 January 2026.
