Huawei Unveils Ultra-Portable MateBook 14 And MateBook X Laptops For The Smart Worker

The realm of ultra-portable laptops has seen a meteoric rise in recent years. The ability to cram the latest Intel Ice Lake and AMD Ryzen processors, and 2K displays and higher, into such small frames is a godsend for many who have to take their work on the go and prefer to pack light.

After the success of the MateBook X Pro, Huawei has been stepping up its ultra-portable game with the announcement of the new Huawei MateBook 14 and Huawei MateBook X. These laptops feature sleek, lightweight designs without sacrificing performance so folks can enjoy smooth work experiences without having to break their backs.

Also running on the back of the MateBook X Pro, the MateBook 14 and MateBook X will feature Huawei’s signature Multi-Screen Collaboration to add on to its growing list of devices in that ecosystem, alongside the likes of the Huawei P40 Pro+.

The MateBook 14 comes with a stunning 2K FullView display with a 3:2 aspect ratio that brings a ton of screen real estate in such a tiny 14-inch frame, which is perfect for just about anyone, especially those who use Microsoft Office a lot due to the sheer size of the screen.

It is powered with the new 7nm AMD Ryzen 4000 H-Series mobile CPU and 16GB RAM to ensure a smooth-sailing experience while working on it. And thanks to its weight of just 1.49kg, it is a great travel companion as well.

The 13-inch MateBook X takes things to an even smaller level, weighing just about 1kg, give or take, and measures just 13.6mm at the thickest part, making it one of the smallest, if not the smallest, Huawei laptops ever made to date.

Don’t be fooled by its diminutive size though; it packs a visual punch thanks too its 3K Infinite FullView Display, which, like the MateBook 14, also comes with a 3:2 aspect ratio with a 100% sRGB colour gamut to provide users with incredible details and vibrancy with whatever content they consume on it.

Pricing and release dates for both the Huawei MateBook 14 and MateBook X will be announced at a later date.
