10-Year ‘Harry Potter’ Max TV Series Reboot Ordered With J.K. Rowling Producing

Potterheads rejoice! A Harry Potter TV series for Max is officially happening!

The live-action series will be based on all seven Harry Potter books and will become a decade-long series produced with the same epic craft, love and care this franchise is known for. It is likely that each season of the show will be based on one of the books in the franchise.

Wizarding World creator J.K. Rowling will serve as executive producer alongside Neil Blair and Ruth Kenley-Letts. David Heyman, who produced all eight Harry Potter feature films is in talks to executive produce too. Warners Bros is still in search of a writer and showrunner.

The Harry Potter TV series will also feature a new cast. Currently, no actors have been attached to the project.

Talks of a potential TV series have been in the works since 2021, with the most recent update that Warner Bros was inching to close a deal on 4 April. That said, the series has provoked mixed reactions among fans.

Rowling’s views on transgender rights have courted plenty of online controversies and fans have begun boycotting the franchise, so much so that Warners Bros had to confirm that the Wizarding World creator was not involved in the making of Hogwarts Legacy.

Time will tell how fans will react to Rowling’s involvement as executive producer. Until then, a Harry Potter TV series is just one of the many ways fans of the series can continue engaging with the franchise.
