Divided between disappointment and anger over the author’s behaviour, some fans even dubbed her as a trans-exclusionary radical feminist(TERF). In response to that, Warners Bros. is quick to assure fans that the author has no direct involvement with the upcoming Hogwarts Legacy game.

J.K. Rowling is not directly involved in the creation of the game, however, her extraordinary body of writing is the foundation of all projects in the Wizarding World. This not a new story from J.K. Rowling.”

The confirmation can be found on their official FAQ page for Hogwarts Legacy.

While the author will no doubt earn royalties from this game, perhaps her absence from the creation of the game’s plot will assuage the anger of fans. The recent controversy has caused the Wizarding World to lose some of its magic, but, we are sure there are still many fans out there anticipating the release of Hogwarts Legacy.
