The multitalented comedian, writer, and actor, Yassir Lester (Earth to Ned, The Carmichael Show), joins Armor Wars, which will be released on Disney+, as head writer.
The Marvel Studios series will star Don Cheadle, who will be reprising his role as James Rhodes, aka War Machine.
Armor Wars explores the legacy of Tony Stark, who met his heroic end in Avengers: Endgame. While nothing much is known about the series currently, it seems like War Machine will have to confront Iron Man’s greatest fear coming true – his armour being used for evil.
Ironheart is another upcoming series that will further explore Stark’s legacy, which follows the character Riri , played by Dominique Thorne, as she makes her own suit of armour and enters herohood.
The portrayal of what follows a hero’s death and its reverberation is something Marvel has been examining. It is definitely fertile ground for a deeper and nuanced look into the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise as a whole, lending itself well to enthralling stories and writing.
There is no confirmed director for Armor Wars yet, but given Lester’s eclectic skills, wit, and humour, this series is definitely one to look forward to on Disney+.
