Xiaomi Launches Four New Phones In Redmi Series

Xiaomi became a Fortune 500 company this year, making it the youngest company in the world to be added to this prestigious list, after just nine years since it started. One of the reasons behind this accolade is its iconic Redmi series – the last iteration, the Redmi Note 7 was their biggest hit, selling 15 million sets in under six months.

Now Xiaomi is ending off the year with a bang, with four new phones in their Redmi series – the Redmi Note 8 Pro, Redmi Note 8, Redmi 8 and Redmi 8A. Ranging from a low S$149 to an equally low S$369, these phones provide unprecedented functionality at an affordable price.

The brand’s first-ever 64MP camera smartphone, the Redmi Note 8 Pro features a quad camera setup making it an ideal companion for photographers. But it’s not just the photography enthusiasts that would get a kick out of this unit, which is powered by the new MediaTek Helio G90T processor, so mobile gamers can expect a gaming experience unlike any other. It also comes in three stylish colours; Mineral Gray, Pearl White and Forest Green.

The Redmi Note 8 is no slouch with a 48MP ultra high-resolution quad-camera setup, a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset, all-over Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and three colour variants, Space Black, Neptune Blue and Moonlight White. On top of having a 4,000mAh battery, this phone also has a unique self-cleaning speaker function which expels dust and debris through low-frequency sonic pulses.

With a 6.22-inch display, the Redmi 8 and Redmi 8A offer a 19:9 aspect ratio, promising an immersive experience. They even have a higher-capacity 5,000mAh battery, so users can keep binging Netflix shows late into the night. The Redmi 8 provides a smooth and luxurious feel with a polished and glossy surface, while the Redmi 8A comes in a textured matt finish, to give users a better grip and keep those pesky fingerprints undetectable.

The Redmi Note 8 Pro will retail at a starting price of S$329 and comes in two versions, 6GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB, starting from October 26.

The Redmi Note 8 will be available in three versions, 3GB+32GB, 4GB+64GB and 4GB+128GB. While the 4GB+64GB version is already available, you’ll have to wait until the last week of October for the other two versions.

Redmi 8 comes in three colour variants and two versions, 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB with a starting price of S$179, while the Redmi 8A is only available in one version, 2GB+32GB for S$149.

All the latest Redmi phones can be purchased via the various Mi stores in Singapore or online through Lazada and Shopee.
