Just in case you’ve not spent every single dollar and every waking moment on Games Workshop products, their latest streaming service, Warhammer Plus, is here to make it even easier.
The service aims to deliver a whole slew of content covering the Warhammer Fantasy and Warhammer 40,000 settings. Ultimately this forms one of the biggest pushes the company has done to entrench itself into the digital age.
There are plans for a variety of animated series to be loaded onto the service with 11 titles announced thus far. Most of the content is focused on 40K for the most part with a bit of fantasy on the side. The only series which seems to be the furthest in development would be Angels of Death. 10 episodes of the animated series have been greenlit and will feature the Blood Angels Space Marine chapter.
Outside of the core tabletop game, Games Workshop has been generous in lending its license to pretty much every mobile game developer out there. A quick search on your respective app stores should turn up games from Diablo-esque actions RPGs to turn based strategy titles.
This streaming service should serve to be one of the biggest strategic moves for the company.
Warhammer Plus will be available on smart TVs, iOS and Android devices with a launch set for July 2021. At the moment details for the subscription service are scant and we should be expecting more information 23 June 2021.
Come to think of it, this service is so brilliant in concept it must have been conjured up by Slannesh.
