Upcoming Marvel Comic Series Will Pick Up Where Insomniac’s Spider-Man Left Off

Fans who are clamouring for more of Insomniac’s Marvel‘s Spider-Man video game and want to know more about that incarnation of Peter Parker now have something to cheer about. Marvel just announced that its latest Spider-Man comic series will pick up right where the game left off.

The comic series titled Spider-Man: Velocity will debut sometime in August and as revealed by Marvel.com, will reveal the secrets of Spider-Man’s Velocity suit and follows the conclusion of Spider-Man: City at War.

Here is the official description for Spider-Man: Velocity:

“Spidey continues to balance his colliding worlds as he attempts to protect New York City against Super Villains like Swarm, while reporter Mary Jane Watson delves deep into an investigation with legendary Daily Bugle journalist Ben Urich. Learn the never-before-told backstory behind the Velocity Suit as unexplainable occurrences bedevil the city and our heroes come face-to-face with…a poltergeist?!”

The series will be written by Dennis “Hopeless” Hallum, with art by Emilio Laiso (Star Wars: Doctor Aphra) and covers will be done by Skan. It will detail the origin of the Velocity suit and explores why Peter decided to design the suit as well as the role it will play in his upcoming battles.
