Ultraman is one of the most recognisable and iconic tokusatsu superheroes from Japan, with many unforgettable signature moves and elements such as the Specium Ray stance, the Shuwatch cry, and the Colour Timer.
In commemoration of the 55th anniversary of Singapore-Japan diplomatic relations and in collaboration with the Singapore Tourism Board, Ultraman will battle kaijus in Ultraman: A New Power of Singapore, a special series comprising three short episodes as part of the SingapoReimagine ULTRAMAN campaign. The campaign, in turn, is also part of a larger-scale project titled SJ55.
The director of these short episodes is Kiyotaka Taguchi, who was the main director for Ultraman Z (2020) and Ultraman Orb (2016). The first episode of Ultraman: A New Power of Singapore is available for viewing on the ULTRAMAN OFFICIAL YouTube channel. The second episode will be released on 14 December, while the third episode will be released on 21 December.
