Timothée Chalamet Rides A Sandworm In ‘Dune: Part 2’ Trailer

The first footage to Dune: Part 2 was recently screened at CinemaCon and while it’s not released online, we do have some details of what the teaser entailed.

For starters, Dune: Part 2 sees Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) assuming his rightful place as the Muad’Dib, prophet of the Fremen. And with this newfound power and status, comes with the thrill of riding the massive sandworms of Arrakis. His eyes are now icy blue too, just like the rest of the Fremen.

Speaking of the Fremen, Zendaya’s character Chani is now war-ready and is assuming a much more important role. Rebecca Ferguson’s Jessica has also left her royal ways and is now covered with face tattoos.

Newcomer Austin Butler joins as the notorious Feyd Rautha, this time the Elvis star is bald and pale as he prepares for a Chrys Nife battle. Florence Pugh is also seen in royal costume as Princess Irula.

Dune: Part 2 also stars Javier Bardem as Stilgar, Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck, Stellan Skarsgård as Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, Dave Bautista as Glossu Rabban Harkonnen, Charlotte Rampling as Reverend Mother Mohiam, Léa Seydoux as Lady Margot Christopher Walken as Emperor Shaddam IV, and Stephen McKinley Henderson as Thurfir Hawat.

Dune: Part 2 will explore the mythic journey of Paul as he unites with Jessica, Chani and the Fremen as they plot for revenge against Baron Harkonnen for killing his father Leto (Oscar Isaac). Paul will then have to choose between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe as well as prevent a terribly future that only he can foresee.

Dune: Part 2 is directed by Denis Villeneuve, with a script from Jon Spaihts based on Frank Herbert’s Dune novels. It is set to hit theatres on 3 November.
