‘The Last of Us’ Co-Creator Neil Druckmann Teases Third Game

Co-creator of hit post-apocalyptic game The Last of Us, Neil Druckmann, teased a concept for a final chapter at the end of a making-of-documentary on Part II. If the idea gets greenlit by developer Naughty Dog, it will be the last entry in the series, stated Druckmann, who has a rough outline for a third game.

As a treat for fans of The Last of Us, the full 2-hour documentary, Grounded II: Making The Last of Us Part II, was uploaded on YouTube by Naughty Dog, which also dedicated a segment to the HBO series.

There’s already some foundation for the storyline, as Druckmann revealed that there was a story written about Joel’s brother, Tommy, after the devastating events of Part II, though it’s unconfirmed if a Part III will feature him as a protagonist.

“I don’t have a story, but I do have that concept, that, to me, is as exciting as I, as exciting as II,
is its own thing, yet has this through-line for all 3,”
said Druckmann about a potential Part III, “so it does feel like… there’s probably one more chapter to this story.”

It’ll likely be years of development before we hear any news about a third game, but in the meantime, why not experience the first two games and their remastered editions on the PS5?
