It’s Chinese New Year season, and to top of the festivities, Google Pay’s beloved social game Huat Pals is back with even more goodies. With the addition of new Huat Pals in 2024, an additional game mode, and attractive prizes, it’s time to ring in the Year of the Dragon.
You can get collectible Huat Pals by spending above S$5 and making the transaction via PayNow, making a Google Pay transfer above S$10 to a friend or using it to pay for movie tickets, and trading Huat Pals, much like how Pokémon works. Collecting five Huat Pals grants you an entry into the lucky draw, which includes prizes like a scratch card worth up to $88.88, a Pixel 8 Pro (worth up to S$1,549), a Pixel 8 worth (worth up to S$1,099), a pair of Pixel Buds Pro (worth up to S$299), or a pair of Pixel Buds A-Series (worth up to S$149).
New Huat Pals this year are Xixi Haha, Ah Bong, Macho Meow, Hop Pop and Souper Loong, themed after mandarin oranges, drums, cats, firecrackers, and a xiao long bao. Here’s a fun fact: the ‘long’ in Xiao Long Bao shares its Chinese character with the long for dragon!
There’s also an addictive new game mode, Huat Match, which has a Candy Crush-style interface; match three or more items in a limited number of moves to earn points which grants a Huat Pal if you score over 450. This year sees the return of trivia games, scanning games, and more Chinese New Year fun!
Huat Pals on the Google Pay app will run from 6 to 18 February 2024, so don’t miss your chance to get the best deals!
