Another gaming year has come and (almost) gone, and that means it’s time for another round of celebrations with The Game Awards 2025 (TGA 2025), and boy, what an event it was. Indie games took the spotlight this year, with Sandfall Interactive’s Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 sweeping a staggering nine awards, including the prestigious Game of the Year, while Supergiant’s Hades II and Team Cherry’s Hollow Knight: Silksong both snagged one award each.
As always, the evening wasn’t just about celebrating victories, but also what’s to come, as once again, TGA 2025 was host to a multitude of trailers and world premieres, highlined by some surprise reveals that stunned, shocked, and fueled the fires of anticipation in the hearts of all gamers.
Here’s a rundown of everything that was revealed during TGA 2025:
TOP 10 ANNOUNCEMENTS (in alphabetical order)
4 Loop
Hailing from the legendary creator of Left 4 Dead and J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Games, 4 Loop is positioned as the next evolution of the co-op shooter genre. Set in an original sci-fi universe where humanity is all but wiped out, players must fight… and fail, to save the world, over and over again in a third-person co-op roguelite where every run brings them closer and closer to victory, or complete annihilation.
Bradley the Badger
Don’t let its cutesy look fool you, as this wild puzzle platformer from the mind behind the Mario + Rabbids games looks to be something truly and literally mind-blowing. Featuring classic platforming elements with a unique twist, players will help Bradley, a video game mascot, as he explores the unfinished worlds and works of his creator. Players will explore tons of worlds themed after work-in-progress games, some hilariously spoofing icons like Bloodborne or The Last of Us, with an interesting “game editor” setting which allows Bradley to interact with in-game objects in numerous interesting ways to progress.
Control Resonant
Welcome back, Director. The Fadens are back in the highly-awaited follow-up to 2021’s excellent action-adventure Control, and this time, the stakes are much higher. The Hiss has broken loose on Manhattan, and after previous protagonist Jesse Faden seemingly goes rogue, it’s up to her (maybe?) evil brother, Dylan, to take up arms for humanity, as he battles a reality-bending cosmic threat. Much like its themes, Control Resonant also appears to be shifting genres altogether, transforming into a seemingly melee-combat-focused RPG, with players using a mix of supernatural abilities and what looks like a melee version of the service weapon that can morph into blades and hammers to dispatch hordes of Hiss, with the trailer’s ending shot possibly teasing that Jesse will be playable too.
Control Resonant will launch sometime in 2026.
Divinity
It turns out the image of the giant statue in the Mojave Desert teased ahead of the awards show pointed to none other than Larian Studios’ next project, Divinity. Continuing its long-running tactical fantasy series, this new game may not have revealed much from its first cinematic premiere trailer, but it’s set to be even larger in scale than Baldur’s Gate 3, with the horrors, blood and guts seen in the trailer only fueling anticipation for perhaps one of the biggest RPGs to come.
Exodus
This one’s for all the Mass Effect fans out there, as this upcoming sci-fi RPG from Wizards of the Coast and Archetype Entertainment is oozing with the feels of BioWare’s iconic franchise, which should come as no surprise considering its development studio was founded by Mass Effect veterans. As a lowly salvager named Jun Aslan, players must lead an interstellar crew across the galaxy to battle the Celestials in what looks to be a classic but no less intense cover shooter experience with hulking mechs, transforming weapons, and the whole sci-fi shebang.
Exodus will arrive in early 2027.
Highguard
This title might be the final reveal of the show, but that doesn’t mean it’s years away, as this PvP raid shooter hailing from the creators of Apex Legends and Titanfall looks to capture the fluid movements of both titles, mixed with a healthy dose of equal parts fantasy and gunslinging. As Wardens, arcane gunslingers, two teams will battle it out for a mythical weapon known as the Shieldbreaker, using it to smash the opposing team’s defences and destroy them. Best of all, it’s free-to-play and launching pretty soon on 26 January 2026.
Mega Man: Dual Override
It’s a blast from the past once again, and just like how TGA 2024 revealed the next Okami title, this year’s show unveils the return of Mega Man, bringing back his classic side-scrolling shooting action in a charming platformer due out in 2027, so players can expect to face more challenges and a legion of robotic enemies sure to ignite nostalgia.
Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic
What a huge misdirection this was, as following leaks that a new Star Wars game was going to be announced at the show with its subtitle ending with The Old Republic, fans were expecting the reveal of the franchise’s long-awaited remake. Turns out, this was something far more exciting, as Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic will be a brand-new single-player role-playing game from the director of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and the Mass Effect trilogy, Casey Hudson. The project is still in its early stages of development, but the team is promising an “epic interactive adventure” with “innovative storytelling, memorable characters, and heart-pounding combat”.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer
Would you look at that, two Star Wars gaming reveals in one show! This time, it’s in a completely different genre, as the makers of Burnout and Need for Speed are bringing the thrills of racing to a galaxy far, far away with Star Wars: Galactic Racer, a “runs-based, high-stakes reinvention of racing born in the lawless Outer Rim of the Star Wars galaxy”. Fans can expect the rush of podracing as they zip across familiar and possibly new landscapes in their speedbikes, landspeeders, and other sci-fi vehicles.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer will speed into action in 2026.
Tomb Raider: Catalyst + Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis
We knew this one was coming, but TGA 2025 still managed to surprise us by unveiling not one, but two upcoming Tomb Raider titles, headlined by the next mainline game in the franchise, Tomb Raider: Catalyst, the long-awaited Crystal Dynamics follow-up built in Unreal Engine 5. Even though it was just a cinematic trailer, we got the chance to look at the newly designed Lara Croft (voiced by Alex Wilton Regan) in action, outfitted with a classic-looking tank top and cargo pants, her signature dual pistols, and a new grappling hook, which will no doubt play a big part in the game’s traversal when it launches in 2027.
That’s not all, however, as what followed was the trailer for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, the much-rumoured remake of Lara’s original 1996 adventure. Positioned as a “reimagining”, this opens up the possibility for the team to tweak its story and gameplay, and that certainly seems to be the case, as the gameplay trailer shows off a vastly new look for the title, with a heavy emphasis on platforming and the return of Lara’s iconic handstand pull-up, and of course, a bigger, badder, prettier T-Rex.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis will launch in 2026.
PRE-SHOW
The Free Shepherd
Kicking off TGA 2025 was one small step, not for a man, but for his best friend, as The Free Shepherd places players in the paws of a shepherd dog as it herds sheep across a stunning landscape filled with calm nature and mysterious obelisks when it launches in 2027 for the PS5 and PC.
Decrepit
Decrepit is a first-person action game with souls-like combat about fighting your way out of a forsaken castle. Featuring rogue-like elements, each death strips away the gear from a player and restarts a newly generated run, so players need to use their wits, learn the castle and loot the undead, gearing up to dispatch tougher and tougher foes with combat focused on positioning, timing, and reading enemy telegraphs.
Decrepit will launch on PC in 2026.
AUDIOMECH: Your music transformed
Audiomech is a rhythm-based, bullet-hell shooter with one unique twist – both enemy attack patterns and player weapons are powered by their music, with the game synchronising to any track playing on a user’s computer, with players using three mech forms – Bass Knight, Vocal Gunship and Treble Bomber – each powered by different beats in the audio track. The title currently doesn’t have a release window yet, but a free demo will be out on Steam tomorrow.
Pragmata
Capcom’s puzzle-based sci-fi shooter has received another trailer, this time delving deeper into its plot and revealing more locations players can explore apart from the space station. As spacefarer Hugh and the android Diana, players must control both in battle, first using Diana to hack an enemy’s defences via a real-time slider puzzle, then shooting with Hugh to deal the finishing blow. This unique gameplay mechanic certainly makes the game one to look out for, and fans don’t have to wait much longer either, with the announcement of its release date of 24 April 2026, with a free demo now available.
Solasta II
Roll the dice to determine your destiny in Solasta II, the sequel to 2020’s tactical RPG Solasta: Crown of the Magister. Create a party of four and uncover the lands of Neokos, battling enemies in turn-based combat for a faithful table-top RPG experience.
Solasta II will launch into Early Access on 12 March 2026.

It’s time to tear through metal behind the wheels of a tank, as TankRat is set to bring vehicular chaos when it launches in Spring 2026. As a Sleepwalker, humans who project their consciousness into mechanical shells, players must shift between controlling the Needle, an agile drone, and powerful combat tanks as they explore a city reduced to rubble, blasting through swarms of corrupted drones and mech-monsters along the way.

Resident Evil Requiem
Perhaps the biggest reveal of the latest trailer for Capcom’s upcoming survival horror follow-up is one that most fans have already predicted – everyone’s favourite blonde-haired agent, Leon S. Kennedy, is not only in the game, but will be its second playable protagonist. With this now confirmed dual protagonist system, Leon is set to offer the more action-focused portions of the game, while newcomer Grace Ashcroft will provide the scares. Perfectly balanced, as it should be.

Order of the Sinking Star

Warlock: Dungeons and Dragons
It looks like Wizards of the Coast isn’t content with offering players a look at just one of its upcoming titles, as it has also launched a first look at the upcoming action-adventure title, Warlock: Dungeons and Dragons, and while no gameplay footage was shown, players will take on the role of a titular Warlock, a spellcaster armed with eldritch magic. The game will also be a more traditional story-driven action experience, and will not lean too heavily on the standard D&D 5e rules. The game will launch in 2027, with a gameplay reveal planned for Summer 2026.
Screamer
In what looks to be Burnout meets anime, Screamer will throw players into a ruthless combat racing championship where adversity comes both on and off the track. Choosing between multiple racers, each with their own vehicles and unique abilities, players will revv their engines in a futuristic, neon-lit world brimming with 90s anime vibes.

Forest 3
Endnight Games made a surprise appearance at TGA 2025 with the announcement of the sequel to 2024’s Sons of the Forest, simply titled Forest 3, at least for now. Its first trailer does mark a huge departure for the series, seemingly leaning towards a more sci-fi aesthetic this time around, although fans can be sure that even though the scenery and. settings have changed, the danger will probably still remain the same.
Orbitals
Fans of co-op platformers can grab a friend and dive into Orbitals, a two-player adventure set in a retro anime world.
