Star Wars Run Singapore 2018 Goes Out With A Flash!

Star Wars fans had the night of their lives with the Star Wars Run as well as the activities in store for them with the May The 4th Be With You Festival last Friday and Saturday!

The Star Wars Run was attended by over 10,000 participants, including the 10km and 5.4km runs and the 540m Young Jedi Dash. Participants in the non-competitive 5.4km run were treated to a dazzling pyrotechnics display representing the Dark or the Light side, but no matter the allegiance picked, they were all gathered as one Star Wars family.

People of all ages and fitness level came for this wonderful evening, including a 6-member, three-generation family. Mdm Chia, a 77-year-old participant in the run, said,“This is my first time taking part in a run so it is an extremely memorable experience for me. The run was a fun opportunity to bond with my family.”

Besides this, attendees got to meet Albin Johnson, founder of the 501st Legion, the international Star Wars costuming organisation, and his pink astromech droid, R2-KT. There was also a costumed band performance, plus a dazzling display of over 500 vintage Star Wars toys.

Both nights ended on a high, with picnics and screenings of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Star Wars: The Last Jedi on May 4th and 5th respectively.

Overall, this year’s Star Wars Day events were a blast, and with so much more Star Wars content to look forward to with the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story, we can’t wait to see what will be in store next year!
