If you are a roleplaying game fan of a certain vintage, then the sci-fi world of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic should be familiar to you. Beginning in 2003, the series captivated audiences with engaging storytelling and intriguing characters as the fate of the galaxy laid in the balance. While it is always fun to revisit old games, fans and newcomers will not need to do so with the arrival of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake.
Developed by Aspyr Media with the help of Lucasfilm Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment, one of the best RPGs of all time will be reborn with modern tech, features, visuals and more. More interestingly, it will be a PlayStation 5 console exclusive.
The remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, or KOTOR, is being made from the ground up while striving the maintain the spirit of the classic. How that would be done remains to be seen, but we would definitely love seeing those iconic battles and scenes play out in modern graphical fidelity.
The history of the studio behind the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake also bodes well. Having ported the likes of Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, Star Wars: Episode I – Racer, Star Wars: Republic Commando, and, yes, the original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic to modern machines, the team at Aspyr knows what they are doing.
The game is still currently early in development, but a tease like this will inevitable raise the bar of anticipation. Hopefully, the ensuing wait will be all worth it when Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake makes it to our part of the galaxy.
