Sid Meier’s Civilization VI: Gathering Storm Descends This February 2019!

While you and your significant other may argue on how best to spend February 14, otherwise known as Valentine’s Day, Firaxis Games and 2K are helping to make that decision easier, especially if you are a Civilization VI fan.

Sid Meier’s Civilization VI: Gathering Storm, the game’s second expansion pack, is coming to PC on February 14, 2019, following the release of Rise and Fall.

Introducing “an active planet where geology and climatology present unique new challenges,” the new expansion will also be adding the World Congress, a diplomatic tool and victory option, brand new engineering projects, a future era for both Technology and Civics trees, a whopping nine new leaders from eight new civilizations, more units, districts, wonders, buildings and much more.

Players of Civilization VI and the new expansion can look forward to challenging scenarios as their world gets rapidly more advanced technologically, and working together or against each other as you affect the world. Natural disasters such as floods, climate change, droughts, blizzards, sandstorms, tornados, hurricanes and volcanoes can wipe cities and civilizations, but are also equally capable of renewing and enriching territory after the dust has settled.

Electricity is now generated by consuming resources such as coal and oil, but renewable sources will come into play, and your choice will affect the global temperature, raising sea levels and melting ice caps. Of course, solutions such as canals, dams and the like can help alleviate the issues, with low lying settlements most at risk.

Sid Meier’s Civilization VI: Gathering Storm is currently set to retail for SG$49.90 on Steam. Read our reviews of both Civilization VI and its first expansion, Rise and Fall.
