Following the exciting reveal of Star Wars Outlaws at the Xbox Showcase, Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment have also shared the first look at gameplay for the open-world title that will be arriving sometime in 2024 as part of the festivities at Ubisoft Forward 2023.
The gameplay in Star Wars Outlaws will invite players to experience the Star Wars galaxy like never before through an original story set between Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Amidst the chaos, it is fertile ground for the criminal underworld to thrive and grow, and that is where players will step into the boots of cunning scoundrel Kay Vess, who is brought to life by Humberly González.
Together with her loyal companion Nix, played by Dee Bradley Baker (Star Wars: The Bad Batch), the pair will attempt one of the greatest heists the Outer Rim has ever seen. Seeking the means to start a new life, players will join Kay and Nix as they fight, steal, and outwit their way through the galaxy’s crime syndicates and join the galaxy’s most wanted.
The Star Wars Outlaws gameplay formula will see players travel across the galaxy to distinct locations, both iconic and new, explore bustling cities and cantinas, race across sprawling outdoor landscapes on their speeder, and pilot their ship, the Trailblazer, through the wilds of space. This means the use of stealth and gadgets to retrieve valuables while undetected, distract enemies with a well-timed stunt, or engage in blaster combat in complicated situations throughout their journey. There are even space dogfights with The Empire and other foes awaiting.
Along the way, Kay and Nix will join forces with a cast of outlaws, including battle-hardened droid ND-5 (Jay Rincon). While stealing valuable goods, infiltrating secret locations, and outwitting enemies, they will need to carefully consider their choices, as each move will influence Kay’s ever-changing reputation. For players willing to take the risk, the gameplay in Star Wars Outlaws presents a galaxy full of opportunities.
