Samsung’s 2022 Neo QLED 8K TVs Combines Forces With Dolby To Recreate The Cinema Experience At Home

Samsung has unveiled its 2022 lineup of Neo QLED TVs, Lifestyle TVs and Soundbars. With the ongoing battle between QLED and OLED still very much underway, Samsung continues to focus its energies on the premium market given its product positioning.

The big star of the show is the QN900B Neo QLED 8K TV. Coming in 85″ (S$19,999), 75″ (S$13,999) and 65″ (S$9,999), the QN900B features the Neural Quantum Processor and Shape Adaptive Live technology.

The processor features 20 independent neural AI networks that analyse the characteristics and picture quality of the content to provide optimal viewing. It also powers one of Samsung’s new technological innovations: Real Depth Enhancer. This new technology scans the screen and maximises contrast and enhances the object in focus while keeping the background unprocessed. It works similarly to the way our human eyes perceive images in real life.

Perhaps, the most noticable upgrade is that the TV now includes both Samsung’s Object Tracking Sound technology and Dolby Atmos – the industry’s first television to support Dolby Atmos. The TV’s Object Tracking Sound feature now includes overhead surround sound so that viewers can experience sound and action from all corners. Together with Dolby Atmos, the tv can provide a cinematic experience from the comfort of your own home.

That’s not all, to take your cinematic experience to the next level are three new soundbar series with refreshed designs: The Q series (S$2,399), B series (S$599) and Ultra Slim series (S$1,299). The Q990B features wireless rear speakers and true 11.1.4Ch sound, providing a complete audio experience by reproducing all action on the screen and delivering audio in 11 different directions. The Q series is also the first soundbar in the world to come with Wireless Dolby Atmos Connectivity so now, you not only can connect to your Samsung TV wirelessly, you can output audio on your Samsung TV and Samsung Soundbar at the same time with Q-Symphony!

The Ultra Slim series on the other hand has well, an ultra-slim design with a 39.9mm side profile and a height of 38mm. It is available in classic black or white and is also equipped with Wireless Dolby Atmos connectivity, SpaceFit Sound and Wifi & Bluetooth connection.

The B series soundbars this time around come with bass boost and Adaptive Sound Lite technology which optimises the audio track for all types of entertainment content, from TV shows, movies to news and gaming.

Samsung has also upgraded its Lifestyle TV range – the Frame, the Serif and the Sero. The 2022 models now boast a Matte Display with anti-glare, anti-reflection and anti-fingerprint features. This is so that the artworks presented in Art Mode are now more realistic than before.

The Frame costs S$5,299 for the 75″ model, S$3,999 for 65″ and S$2, 799 for 55″. The 50″ model goes for S$2,299 and 43″ model goes for S$1,899.

In addition, The Serif costs S$2,799 for 55″ and S$1,899 for 43″. Whereas the Sero goes for S$2,299 for 43″.

In lieu of packing in all the TVs components into the actual TV display, Samsung is keeping things neat, tidy, and aesthetically pleasing. Users will route all their devices into an HDMI switch box that can be tucked away neatly under your TV without wires dangling out of the TV. This hub handles connectivity and power in one place. The Korean tech brand is also taking a stride towards sustainability, with solar paneled tv remotes that can be charged under natural sunlight, indoor lights, and even at night.

Of course, the 2022 TV lineup is not complete without a new user experience. This year’s lineup comes with smarter features and an improved user interface. The 2022 lineup comes with four HDMI 2.1 supporting ports, Motion Xcelerator Turbo Pro 4K 144Hz gaming, Super Ultrawide GameView and Game Bar, making gaming more efficient and accessible for a fast-paced and streamlined experience.

For folks who might want to use these televisions as a monitor, it only supports Freesync so NVIDIA folks might want to look at alternatives for now.

If you’re in on the NFT trend too, Samsung will be debuting its NFT Platform in 2022 to display your digital art on the big screen.

The Samsung 2022 TV and Soundbar Lineup is available on the official Samsung website, Shopee and Lazada.
