‘Sakamoto Days’ Anime Sets 2025 Release

Sakamoto Days is officially getting an anime which is set to debut in January 2025, in a surprise announcement that also revealed a teaser trailer, to celebrate the manga’s achievement of selling 5 million copies.

The manga which was first serialized in Shonen Jump as a one-shot in 2019 and made into an official manga in 2020, follows retired hitman Taro Sakamoto who now runs a convenience store and settles down with a family, but the shady underworld he left behind still haunts him, and his enemies come after him as he attempts to maintain his civilian identity.

TMS Entertainment, known for their work on Detective Conan and Lupin the Third, is the studio attached to the project, with Masaki Watanabe (Battle Spirits) directing. Tomokazu Sugita, who has voiced characters in Demon Slayer, Gintama, and other anime franchises, will voice Sakamoto, though the rest of the anime’s voice actors have yet to be revealed.

Will the Sakamoto Days anime hit its mark? One thing’s for sure, it’s already garnered plenty of anticipation from fans, and it’ll be a treat to see the long-running manga go from page to screen.
