For a town named Silent Hill, the hype surrounding it is far from quiet, as Konami’s classic survival horror franchise has become a staple of the genre and an icon in the video game industry. It’s not just gaming, too, as the IP has received numerous big-screen adaptations, and its latest entry, Return to Silent Hill, aims to bring one of the most legendary games in the franchise to life, 2001’s Silent Hill 2.

Helmed by Christophe Gans, who returns after his work on 2006’s Silent Hill, the franchise’s first movie adaptation that’s fondly remembered as a cult classic, Return to Silent Hill marks the third film and soft reboot of the franchise following 2012’s Silent Hill: Revelation, and stars Jeremy Irvine (War Horse) as James Sunderland, Hannah Emily Anderson (Jigsaw) as Mary Crane, and Evie Templeton (Wednesday) as Laura.
Held in collaboration with Shaw Theatres, over 100 fans were able to embark on a return trip to the iconic foggy town, now in movie form, during Geek Culture’s screening on 28 January 2026, and what followed was 106 minutes of creepy tension and psychological terrors, not forgetting the appearance of everyone’s favourite Pyramid Head.

Even before the movie began, fans were treated to a pre-spectacle of their own, as some dedicated Silent Hill fans showed up in full costume to celebrate the occasion, with one Pyramid Head and two Bubble Head Nurses roaming the halls in search of their unfortunate victims, while also providing photo opportunities for their fellow moviegoers.
Loosely based on Silent Hill 2, Return to Silent Hill follows James, a broken man following the disappearance of his girlfriend, Mary, who receives a mysterious letter beckoning him back to the town of Silent Hill. What began as a simple search for lost love quickly spirals into complete madness as James encounters all sorts of terrifying figures from both the games and beyond, as he slowly starts to question his own sanity.
Return to Silent Hill arrives in cinemas in Singapore on 29 January 2026.
