Razer X Fossil Gen 6 Android Wear Smartwatch Is Limited To 1337 Pieces

Wearables provide a visible way for users to assert their identities. Razer, the gaming peripheral brand, is partnering up with Fossil, the watch manufacturer, to launch a limited-edition smartwatch.

There will only be 1,337 units of the Razer X Fossil Gen 6 Smartwatch made. It features three exclusive Razer watch faces (Analog, Team Razer, and Chroma), and two interchangeable 22mm silicone straps. Yes, the Chroma watch face features customisable Razer Chroma RGB effects.

The Gen 6 is the first smartwatch to be powered by the Snapdragon Wear 4100+ platform, and it runs on Google’s Wear OS, so it’s not just stylish, it has substance too.

The smartwatch places its focus on health and wellness with sleep tracking, health and wellness sensors, and hands-free notifications. It is not entirely clear how the smartwatch is designed specifically for gamers beyond the Razer branding because in terms of functionalities, the Razer X Fossil Gen 6 is just like a typical great smartwatch.

It is thus best to see it as a fashion statement beyond something purely utilitarian. It’s a way to use technology that can help one lead a healthier life while showing off one’s pride as an avid gamer.

The Razer X Fossil Gen 6 Smartwatch will be available online at Fossil and Razer on 10 January for US$329.
