PlayStation VR 2 Headset Design Unveiled, Fits Perfectly With The PS5

At CES 2022, Sony announced Horizon Call of the Mountain exclusively for its next-gen virtual reality (VR) headset, the PlayStation VR 2 (PS VR 2) with some truly impressive specs. Now, we finally get to see what the VR headset looks like as Sony has unveiled the design of both the headset itself and the PlayStation VR 2 Sense controller.

The headset is a step forward for VR technology, and it is plain to see based on the headset’s features – 4K HDR with an OLED display, headset-based controller tracking, new sensory features that combine eye tracking, headset feedback, 3D Audio, and the PS VR 2 Sense controller, eye tracking, haptic feedback, and more.

The design of the PS2 VR headset is in line with the design of the PlayStation 5 (PS5), though the PS VR 2 features more rounded edges rather than flat edges. This, however, does fit the look of the DualSense controller more. With an eye trained on the comfort when wearing the headset, the PS VR 2 sports an adjustable scope that allows the scope area to be calibrated closer or farther away from the face, and an adjustable headband.

Not only that, there is also a lens adjustment dial so users can optimise their view when wearing the headset. This is a lighter headset compared to the previous iteration, and it’s definitely a VR headset that we are excited to try out.

While VR games aren’t new, with games such as Throw Anything and Iron Man VR on the market, it is a space that still holds a lot of untapped potential, and with the PS VR 2, the future of VR gaming seems to be getting brighter.
