‘Persona 3’ Remake And ‘Persona 5’ Tactics Game Trailers Leaked By Atlus

Atlus, the developer behind the Persona series, seems to have accidentally unveiled two highly-anticipated games: a remake of Persona 3 and a Persona 5 tactics game. Both of these exciting revelations came before the Xbox Games Showcase 2023, which is set to take place on 11 June, 10am PT.

The video trailers for both Persona 3 Reload, a revamped version of the 2006 RPG, and Persona 5 Tactica, a novel grid-based spin-off, were momentarily made public on Atlus West’s official Instagram account.

Though Atlus was swift to pull the videos, the swift denizens of the internet were faster, capturing and sharing them across multiple platforms like Twitter, Reddit, and Resetera. These trailers, each just over a minute long, provide a tantalizing glimpse of cinematics and gameplay from the soon-to-be-confirmed Persona titles.

The leak suggests that the announcement was intended for Microsoft’s Xbox Games Showcase on Sunday, as the video indicates the game will be available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PC, with access through Game Pass.

Rumors of a Persona 3 remake have been swirling for some time, particularly following an apparent leak in April featuring footage of the game. The leaked trailer that surfaced today offered fleeting glimpses of gameplay and well-known cutscenes from the original title, all presented in the distinctive aesthetic of Persona 5. Interestingly, the trailer reveals that the remake of Persona 3 is being developed using the Unreal Engine by Epic Games.

Originally launched on the PlayStation 2 in 2006, Persona 3 received an upgraded version in 2009 for the PlayStation Portable. Persona 3 Reload is expected to launch in early 2024.
Meanwhile, Atlus seems to have affirmed through their Instagram that a fresh spinoff of Persona 5, titled Persona 5 Tactica, is in the works. Set for release on 17 November 2023, this game is portrayed as a turn-based, grid-style RPG akin to Fire Emblem or XCOM.

The trailer showcases the Persona 5 cast, rendered in a slightly more animated style, engaging foes with a variety of attacks, Persona summons, and team-oriented maneuvers.

According to the leaked trailer, Persona 5 Tactica will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PC with Day 1 Game Pass availability. However, this does not imply exclusivity for these platforms. We can anticipate additional details about these games, including their respective features and potential release on other platforms, following the Xbox Games Showcase this Sunday.
