Microsoft has raised the prices of its Xbox Series S|X consoles and Xbox controllers worldwide, with further plans to increase the prices of some of its upcoming first-party Xbox games arriving this holiday season.
As announced via an update on the Xbox support site, Microsoft lists out the updated retailer pricing for its consoles and controllers, which sees the Xbox Series X receiving a US$100 price bump to US$599.99, while the console’s digital edition has seen a similar increase to US$549.99.

The console’s weaker variant, the Xbox Series S, has also seen a price hike, with its 512GB model now costing US$379.99, with the 1TB model costing US$429.99. It’s not only the consoles that are affected, though, as Xbox wireless controllers and headsets have also seen the same price hike, with the base controller now costing US$64.99 and the Xbox wireless headset now at US$119.99.
In a move to match the controversial prices of Nintendo’s Switch 2 launch titles, Microsoft will also increase the prices of some of its upcoming games this holiday season, moving from US$69.99 to US$79.99, although fortunately, Xbox Game Pass pricing is set to remain unchanged.
These price hikes will affect markets worldwide and come amid the troubled global landscape brought on by the U.S. tariff war. Microsoft last increased its console prices in June 2023, which saw both its Xbox Series X and Game Pass receive a bump to their cost, and most recently, the price hike of Xbox Game Pass in July 2024, alongside the launch of its new standard tier.
