Chase Is On The Cash As ‘Paw Patrol’ Sequel Beats ‘Saw X’ And ‘The Creator’ With US$46M Global Opening

Paw Patrol is on a roll! Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie scored much of the action at the box office with US$46.1 million global opening.

The sequel movie opened with US$23 million domestically, with an additional US$23.1 million flying in from 45 overseas markets. The movie performed 70 percent better than the last pic, Paw Patrol: The Movie (2021), which opened to US$13.1 million domestically, and grossed US$140 million globally at the end of its run – a rather notable figure for pandemic times.

Given the success of the sequel, a third movie is expected for 2026.

Perhaps a bigger flex than a new sequel on the way is that Paw Patrol outperformed the beloved horror franchise Saw X and the sci-fi epic The Creator. Saw X came in second with an opening of US$18 million domestically and US$29.3 million globally.

The Creator came in third place domestically with US$14 million. It took a bigger swing overseas with US$18.3 million, bringing its global total to US$32.3 million.

Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie stars Taraji P. Henson, Kristen Bell, Christian Convery, Brice Gonzalez, Mckenna Grace and Lil Rel Howery  as the heroic pups.

In the movie, the Paw Patrol pups magically gain superpowers after a meteor strikes Adventure City. However, things take a turn for the worse when Humdinger and a mad scientist steal their powers and turn themselves into supervillains. As the team springs into action to save the city, Skye soon learns that even the smallest pup can make the biggest difference
