Voice actor Paul Haddad, best known for his role as Leon Kennedy in the original 1998 Resident Evil 2 has passed away at the age of 56.
News of his death came from Invader Studios, who Haddad had worked with on Daymare: 1998. On Twitter, the studio said “Paul Haddad, our dear friend and an icon among the RE community, has passed away recently. We’ve been truly honoured to have the chance to meet and work with such a great man and a brilliant professional that He was.”
Aside from voice acting in video games, Haddad is also known for his role in television, with shows such as The Adventures of Tintin, and the 1990’s X-Men cartoon where he voiced Quicksilver.
The cause of his death has yet to be confirmed. Though Comicbook.com has reported that the actor was suffering from throat cancer.
Nick Apostolides, the voice actor for Leon Kennedy in 2019’s remake of Resident Evil 2, took to Twitter to post a short video tribute to Haddad.
Other Resident Evil fans have also taken to Twitter to share their condolences and memories of the voice actor.
