Owndays x Gundam Head Case Delayed Indefinitely Due To COVID-9

As we have mentioned, the 2019 novel coronavirus, now dubbed COVID-19, has negatively affected a number of companies around the world.

With companies that produce toys, games, and tech all having to either postpone their pre-orders, pulling out of major events, or having their physical stores closed in a bid to help prevent the spread of the virus.

This time Japanese eyewear brand Owndays has also announced that their RX-78-2 Glasses Head Case will be delayed indefinitely due to COVID-19. In an email sent to customers who pre-ordered the head case from Owndays Singapore, which reads:

As reported, the Chinese authorities have implemented strict measures to contain the novel coronavirus outbreak. These included lockdowns of cities, restricted movements and suspension of work in Wuhan and various parts of China.

Our production lines for the Gundam Head Case had also been suspended to comply with the mandate issued by local authorities in China. There is currently no clear indication when normal operations would resume.

In light of the novel coronavirus developments, please be informed that there may be a significant delay in the delivery of the Gundam Head Case.

The Owndays x Gundam Head Case was originally slated to be released in early March in both Japan and Singapore. It is priced at 39,980 Yen before 10% tax (in Japan), and S$580 (in Singapore).
