Overwatch Offers Special Pink Mercy Skin In Support Of Charity

Mercy’s got a brand new look, and it’s all for a good cause. For the first time ever, Overwatch is teaming up with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) to raise awareness and funds through the sale of a special charity skin – Pink Mercy!

It seems only apt that Mercy, the game’s gifted doctor who’s dedicated her life to healing others, would be chosen as the face of this campaign. As Tracer always says, “The world could always use more heroes,” so now everyone can become a hero by rallying behind this cause.

The skin is available for purchase in-game or online for US$14.99 on PC, PS4, and XBox One, and 100% of proceeds will go directly to the BCRF and their mission to end breast cancer. For full transparency, Blizzard also promises to disclose the total amount raised at the end of the campaign.

Purchase of the Pink Mercy skin isn’t the only way to show your support. There’s also a limited-edition fan-designed Pink Mercy charity t-shirt pictured above, and all funds raised from the tee sales will likewise go to BCRF. The shirt retails at US$30, and can be purchased from the Blizzard Gear Store.

By simply logging into Overwatch during the campaign period, all players will be gifted with a BCRF-themed player icon. Other in-game rewards include Twitch Drops, where players can earn a player icon and four new sprays by tuning in to select Twitch charity streams.

The full list of participating streamers and timings can be found on the Overwatch blog, and all donations the streamers receive during their streams goes right to the BCRF. Twitch will also be providing BCRF- and Pink Mercy-themed global emotes, so spam away in the Twitch chats of your favourite streams to spread awareness.

Overwatch believes in creating a better world, and now everyone can help out and make a difference too. The campaign runs from 8 to 21 May, and you can check out the Overwatch website for more information.
