Oppo Gundam Style! Hey… Sexy Mecha

Oppo has just unveiled its latest addition to the flagship series, the Reno Ace. Marketed as a gaming-centric phone, the company boasts that the Reno Ace will be able to charge its 4,000mAh battery in just 30 minutes with its 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 feature.

The Reno Ace will include a Snapdragon 855+ processor, 6.5-inch 1080p display with a 90Hz refresh rate, 48-megapixel camera, stereo speakers and UFS 3.0 fast storage. You might think this all sounds familiar and that’s because it is. These are all features that are also present in their sister company’s OnePlus 7T. Family always shares.

You may not be excited about another phone launch but this one is special. For the 40th anniversary of Gundam, Oppo is releasing a special edition of their newest launch. This edition pays homage to the beloved anime and manga series through its design, both in packaging and product.

While the standard Oppo Reno Ace will be available from October 17, the Gundam edition Reno Ace will be available from November 11 at the price of 3,599 yuan (US$505) and includes 256GB storage and 8GB RAM. Unfortunately, it appears to only be sold in China.

Remember we mentioned that this phone is gaming-centric? Oppo also has a Unicorn Gundam edition attachable gamepad for roughly 299 yuan (US$42) and it will be available for preorder on October 10, way before any of the launch dates.

Now the question is, how do we (outside of China) get hold of one of these sweet phones?
