Vivo X500 Series Goes Big With 200MP ZEISS Telephoto Lens & 7,000mAh Battery

Vivo has unveiled the latest lineup of its flagship smartphone series, the X500 Pro Max and X500, which house an advanced ZEISS Telephoto Lens System and the largest battery capacities ever seen in the X Series, further blurring the line between smartphones and professional-grade creative devices.

Headlining the lineup is the Vivo X500 Pro Max, which features a 200 MP ZEISS APO Telephoto Camera with a 1/1.4-inch Ultra-Sensing Sensor HP0 and an 85mm equivalent focal length. Powered by the X-Track Engine, the device features the tools for professional-grade subject tracking across both photo and video modes, including Lock-On Subject Tracking to keep subjects in focus even when they move or become obstructed. For long-range tracking, its Super Snapshot Engine offers 30 times Long-Range Motion Snapshot on the X500 Pro Max, making it easier to capture fast-moving subjects from a distance and making the device suitable for a wide variety of scenarios such as concerts, wildlife photography, and sports coverage.

The X500, on the other hand, is designed as an everyday creative companion, combining a 72mm equivalent ZEISS APO Telephoto Camera with a ZEISS Pro-Level Ultra-Sensing Camera that features a 50 MP 1/1.28-inch sensor similar to the one seen in the X300 Pro.

Both X500 phones also feature Vivo’s new OriginOS 7, which features enhanced cross-ecosystem connectivity across Android and Apple devices, such as Quick Share, which simplifies file transfers across devices with its support for AirDrop, and the Vivo Office Kit, which facilitates collaboration between Vivo smartphones and Mac computers through tools like Jovi PC and Camera Sharing.

Under the hood, the devices are powered by the latest MediaTek Dimensity processors, with the X500 Pro Max featuring the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro, and the X500 housing the MediaTek Dimensity 9600M. The devices also feature the largest batteries to be featured in an X Series phone to date, with the X500 Pro Max housing a massive 7,800mAh battery, while the X500 is equipped with a 7,500mAh battery. Both models also feature support for 90W wired FlashCharge and 40W wireless FlashCharge.

To further enhance the device’s photo-taking capabilities, lens attachments will also be available as a separate purchase, including a 200mm Telephoto Extender and a dedicated case for the X500, as well as the 400mm Equivalent vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra for the X500 Pro Max, with both attachments being made available at a later date.
