Nioh 2 To Make Improvements Following Beta Feedback

We are big fans of the Soulsborne games here at Geek Culture, and if you had the opportunity to jump into the closed or open betas of Team Ninja’s upcoming Nioh 2, it was definitely a challenge bringing the fight to the Yokai.

Now, Team Ninja has stated on the PlayStation Blog that the team will be working to make things fairer when the final game ships on March 13, 2020.

It was a tremendous learning experience for us as we carefully examined you guys playing the demo. We really appreciate the massive amount of responses submitted to our questionnaire after the play through.

Our team has thoroughly read and reviewed everyone’s constructive feedback, and with that input we are working diligently towards fine-tuning the build for the final game

Tom Lee, Creative Director

The team will be “adjusting the balance for all Yokai actions and strengthening several of the special moves and making them more manageable to use.” In addition, modifications will be “made to control the level of punishments in the Dark Realm such as adding merits where the maximum Ki damage is increased against enemy Yokai as well as the overall management of the player’s Ki will be refined.”

This would just be the start of the changes being made by the devs, with more being done to improve the experience of players, be it for veterans or newcomers.

Needless to say, while betas have traditionally been used to stress test certain games, to have a studio be transparent about the feedback and processes of development is still a breath of fresh air. We are now looking forward to Nioh 2 with even more excitement now.
