Earlier this year, Nikkei reported that Nintendo is working on releasing a new Switch model with a focus on portability.
Following up on that rumour, the Wall Street Journal recently reported that the gaming company is now planning on releasing not just one, but two new models, and they may be both released in 2019.
The first Switch model, according to WSJ, “will have enhanced features targeted at avid videogamers, although it won’t be as powerful as Sony Corp.’s PlayStation 4 Pro or Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One X.”
While the second model “is a cheaper option for casual gamers that Nintendo sees as a successor to its aging hand-held 3DS device.”
Nintendo is expected to be announcing their new Switch models at E3 this year, and possibly release them a few months later. Which is just in time for Christmas as well as the release of their new games such as Pokémon Sword and Shield, and Animal Crossing.
