Nintendo Has Finally Announced The Release Date For The Long-Awaited Mario Kart Tour

Nintendo has finally announced a date for the release of their next big mobile game, Mario Kart Tour. The long-awaited game will finally be arriving on iPhone and Android mobile devices on September 25

The announcement came via a tweet from the game’s brand new official Twitter account, who also provided a link for those interested in pre-registering for Mario Kart Tour. It is still unclear as to what the benefits of pre-registering for the games are.

Much like Nintendo’s other Super Mario games, namely Dr. Mario World and Super Mario Run, Mario Kart Tour will be a free-to-play game that comes with lots of opportunities for optional microtransactions and cooldown timers.

According to Kotaku’s Ethan Gach who managed to get into the beta test for Mario Kart Tour, he noted that the microtransaction system brings down an otherwise fun and enjoyable game. With all these reviews made based on the unreleased beta of the game, it is highly likely that Nintendo might be making changes to its microtransaction system prior to launch.

A number of familiar courses will be available in Mario Kart Tour, such as the Dino Dino Jungle from Mario Kart: Double Dash!! and Choco Island 2 from Super Mario Kart.

Players will get to choose from a total of 30 racers in the game’s roster, and will also get to play with all of Mario Kart’s iconic items such as the Giant Banana and the Golden Mushroom.

Mario Kart Tour will be available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store from September 25. Pre-registration for the game is now open.
