Somehow, sneakers themed in the colours of the popular Netflix Original series has been on the up and up lately, and Nike aims to capitalise on the hype by releasing their new “Upside Down” pack.
This pack features the classic Nike trio — Air Tailwind, Cortez Blazer Mid — in clean, cream-coloured fabric, and is inspired by Starcourt Mall, one of the main venues in the third season of the show.
However, like the Upside Down, they also bear a darker, dirtier look underneath that whiteness, by burning off the top.
Additionally, there are more Starcourt-themed visuals, such as the mall’s blueprints on the protective cover in the shoe box. Drawings of the Russian base in Starcourt also adorn the soles, as do the title of the first episode of Season 3: “Suzie, do you copy?”.
The Nike x Stranger Things “Upside Down” Pack will launch on August 13, 2019, in retailers such as Sneakerstuff. Each pair of shoes will go for US$110, and purchasing a pair also nets you a set of collector’s pins.
Marion has a serious RPG addiction. Sometimes it bleeds into real life; he forgets to sleep because he thinks he has a Witcher’s body clock. Forgive him in advance if he suddenly blurts out terms such as “Mind Flayer” and “Magic Missile”, because never once does he stop thinking about his next Dungeons & Dragons game.
