Nike x Stranger Things Collection Heads To Hawkins With Summer 1985 Vibes

Pop culture crossovers are a well-trodden path, and while there are some that present a fresh, innovative spin on things, others can come across as gimmicky and underwhelming.

But with the upcoming release of the Nike x Stranger Things collection, the latter is hardly an issue. The first drop of the collaborative capsule is set to feature a selection of apparel and sneakers inspired by the world of Stranger Things, with designs that go beyond a mere logo addition, or a shoddy attempt at riding the hype wave.

Instead, the Hawkins High pack will be a proper throwback collection to the summer of 1985, sporting the school’s iconic green-and-orange colour motif and the Hawkins Tiger logo. At the centre of attention are popular Nike classics belonging to the 1970s, such as the Blazer, Tailwind, and Cortez, which are also accompanied by a stylish, complementary set of sweat suits and t-shirts themed after the Hawkins phys-ed uniforms.

Meanwhile, the second part of the collection – dubbed the OG Pack – takes on Independence Day-inspired hues, and comes decked in the colorways of red (Cortez), white (Tailwind), and blue (Blazer). Unlike the earlier drop, this set of kicks features a fireworks-speckled sock liner, in exchange for the lack of the Hawkins logo.

The Nike x Stranger Things collection will be released over two launch windows on Nike’s official site and at NikeLab Dover Sreet Market Singapore: the Hawkings High pack on June 27, 2019, and the OG Pack on July 1. Pricing and other details are set to arrive to the Nike SNKRS app later in the month of June, so do keep an eye out for it – especially since many of the fans and sneaker heads are bound to snatch up the handsome, sleek-looking package fast.
