Netflix’s ‘Umbrella Academy’ Season 4 Cast Tease “Sexy, Wacky” Fun Final Chapter

The timelines in Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy might be a mess, but that won’t stop the Hargreeves family from having fun while they attempt to navigate an alternate world. In a video released as part of Netflix’s Geeked Week 2023, the annual celebration of all things, well, geeky, the cast shares what fans can expect with the forthcoming Season 4.

Elliot Page (Viktor) says to keep an eye out for “excitement, surprises” and “humour”, while Aidan Gallagher (Five) highlights marketing material where they “try and dance around getting people excited without saying anything new.” Naturally, chaotic energy will continue to be a series staple, with both David Castañeda (Diego) teasing a “still very, very wacky” final season, and Emmy Raver-Lampman (Allison) confirming that it’s “really, really packed with the classic Umbrella Academy family nonsense and shenanigans that you look forward to.”

Tom Hopper agrees, saying the final season hits the ground running and puts the siblings through “the usual amount of mayhem”. Meanwhile, Justin H. Min (Ben) brings up the sexy appeal factor, adding, “Sexy’s always one of my words so I’m going to continue to use it.” Capping off the video is Robert Sheehan (Klaus), who shares some fine words of advice: “Fans, expect nothing and you will gain everything.”

The episode count for Season 4 of The Umbrella Academy hasn’t been officially revealed, but multiple sources put it to be shorter than the 10 episodes of each previous season. Reportedly, it will clock in at six episodes when it premieres sometime in 2024.

Based on the graphic novels of the same name written by Gerard Way and illustrated by Gabriel Bá, the popular Netflix series follows a dysfunctional adopted family with superpowers who find themselves trying to stop the end of the world more than once. Fans last saw them in Season 3, which ended with the group resetting the universe and ending back up in the modern day without their powers.

And as many works dabbling in multiple universes and timelines have shown over and over again, that means things are about to get a lot messier. The official poster gives a sneak peek of the headache that’s sure to come to Season 4 of The Umbrella Academy:
