Netflix’s ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Season 2 Drops Character Posters Ahead Of Jun Debut

The war against the Fire Nation is heating up, and the Gaang looks set to continue the fight. Netflix has released the character posters for Season 2 of its live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series, bathing Aang (Gordon Cormier), Katara (Kiawentiio), Sokka (Ian Ousley), and Toph (Miyako) in a warm greenish glow (to match the colour scheme for the Earth Nation, perhaps?).

Missing from the reveal is Zuko (Dallas Liu), while the blind earthbender will be the new addition to the group. Cormier, Kiawentiio, Ousley, and Liu all reprise their roles in the forthcoming outing, which airs exclusively on the streamer on 25 June. Other returning faces include Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Uncle Iroh, Elizabeth Yu as Princess Azula, Momona Tamada as Ty Lee, Thalia Tran as Mai, and Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai, joined by series newcomers Chin Han (Long Feng), Kelemete Misipeka (The Boulder), Amanda Zhou (Joo Dee), Justin Chien (King Kuei), and more.

Christine Boylan and Jabbar Raisani are at the helm for the second season, taking the reins from Season 1 creator and showrunner Albert Kim, who remains an executive producer after stepping down in April. Boylan, Raisani, Dan Lin, Lindsey Liberatore, and Michael Goi also executive produce, with Goi directing the first two episodes. Goi helmed episodes three and four, followed by Roseanne Liang (My Wedding and Other Secrets) for the next two episodes, then Jet Wilkinson (Percy Jackson and the Olympians) for the final two.

Based on Nickelodeon’s beloved animated classic, Avatar: The Last Airbender follows the airbender Aang, who can control air, water, earth, and fire as the Avatar. In Season 2, he will focus on picking up earthbending after mastering waterbending, while evading the evil Fire Nation and Prince Zuko. The show is set to conclude with a third season, just like the original, which has wrapped production. A release date has yet to be announced.

Following the release of Season 2 on 25 June, The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender is due to bow on Paramount+ this October, but it was unfortunately leaked by a 26-year-old — later revealed to be based in Singapore and subsequently arrested — earlier in April. Seven Havens, the animated follow-up to The Legend of Korra, is slated for release in 2027.
