Netflix The Witcher: Blood Origin Prequel Series Casts Jodie Turner-Smith In Lead Role

Toss a coin to to Jodie Turner-Smith because the sought after British model turned actress is going to play a lead role in Netflix’s new The Witcher: Blood Origin prequel series.

The Queen and Slim actress is set to play a new character named Éile who is described to be an elite warrior blessed with the voice of a goddess. In the series, Éile has left her clan and position as Queen’s guardian to follow her heart as a nomadic musician. A grand reckoning on the continent later forces her to return to the way of the blade in her quest for vengeance and redemption.

The prequel series is set in an elven world 1,200 years before the world of The Witcher came about. The Witcher: Blood Origin will tell a story lost to time, the creation of the first protype Witcher and the events that lead to the pivotal “conjunction of spheres”when the worlds of monsters, men and elves merged to become one.

The Witcher: Blood Origin doesn’t have a release date yet but it’s not the only Witcher related tv production.

Season 2 of the Henry Cavill-led The Witcher series is currently in production too, with the script of the first scene now made available online. The Witcher season 2 is expected to launch on Netflix in 2021.
