Bad news RoboCop fans, it looks like director Neill Blomkamp (District 9 / Chappie) is no longer directing the upcoming RocoCop sequel.
Just last month, Blomkamp confirmed on Twitter that his new RoboCop film will feature the “original suit, which got fans crazy excited.
Subsequent updates from the director also mentioned that the script was currently being written by the original RoboCop writer Ed Neumeier and the process was going well.
However, earlier today, he took to Twitter with an update that MGM simply couldn’t wait for him to finish shooting his new horror/thriller film. So he is officially out.
This is worrying as fans have been hyped about the promises of a sequel that was true to the original, especially since the 2014 remake was a huge disappointment for some.
