‘RoboCop: Rogue City’ Standalone Expansion Features New Weapons And Playable Alex Murphy

RoboCop is back to serve the public trust, protect the innocent and uphold the law as RoboCop: Rogue City is receiving a standalone expansion titled Unfinished Business in Summer 2025, featuring a new questline, weapons and most importantly, letting players finally step into the shoes of Alex Murphy, the full-man, non-machine, but still all cop version.

As a new chapter set after the events of RoboCop: Rogue City, Unfinished Business will centre around mega-corporation Omni Consumer Products’ (OCP) latest project, the OmniTower, a massive housing complex designed to relocate the residents of Old Detroit. When the building comes under the control of a group of elite mercenaries, it’s up to RoboCop to take back control and restore order.

Players can expect to face a host of new high-tech threats, including flying drones, turrets, and foes wielding miniguns and katanas. To do this, the expansion teases new additions to RoboCop’s arsenal, including a Cryo Cannon and “devastating finishing moves” that can change depending on his location in the environment, such as smashing an opponent’s skull against a vending machine.

Most interestingly, the expansion will also include additional flashback sequences, this time letting players step into the shoes of Alex Murphy before he was RoboCop, with him being described as “all too vulnerable on the beat in Old Detroit”, which could hint towards a major shake up in certain gameplay sections, requiring players to adopt a safer approach compared to its usual “walking tank” style.

Developed by Polish studio Teyon, RoboCop: Rogue City originally released in 2023 and was a breath of fresh air, becoming a sleeper hit for its simple-yet-satisfying gameplay loop and its authenticity to its source material. There’s no doubt that Unfinished Business will continue this trend to provide players with more gory action and pun-filled cheese when it releases in Summer 2025 for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
