If you’re going to make a game about your friendly neighbourhood Miles Morales, then you absolutely have to include that iconic suit from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. And lo and behold, Insomniac Games has done it in the upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales standalone title.
Anyone who has watched Into the Spider-Verse (and if you haven’t now’s the best time to do so!) will be able to appreciate everything that Insomniac has done to make this skin come to life. The new 11-minute gameplay video released by Sony Interactive Entertainment gives us a closer look at the Into the Spider-Verse suit in action.
Most strikingly, donning this suit on lets Miles zip around in that iconic 24 frames-per-second, 2.5D animation style as seen in the movie, while the rest of the world is still a fully-rendered 3D environment. Not even Peter Parker’s own Into the Spider-Verse suit back in the original Marvel’s Spider-Man used that animation style, so that makes this one all the more unique.
And as an icing on the cake, Insomniac even went so far as to include the comic book-style effects such as “Pow!”, “Thwack!” and “Bonk!”, as Miles socks it to the face of his foes.
The Into the Spider-Verse suit, alongside the white-and-black T.R.A.C.K suit, will be available as a pre-order bonus on launch day (12 November) for both PS4 and PS5. Insomniac Games clarifies that it will still be available as an unlockable for players that didn’t pre-order.
Let’s just hope that if Insomniac decides to adapt the streetwear-inspired suit from Into the Spider-Verse, they also throw in Miles’ signature Nike Air Jordan 1 sneakers too.

Forgive him in advance if he suddenly blurts out terms such as “Mind Flayer” and “Magic Missile”, because never once does he stop thinking about his next Dungeons & Dragons game.
